Cancer Walk & 5k Run

Jerry Hoyt Memorial

Fighting for a cure in your memory

The Jerry Hoyt Memorial Cancer Walk was established in 2008 to raise brain cancer awareness in memory of Broome County Sheriff's Detective and S.W.A.T. team sniper, Jerry Hoyt, who passed away from brain cancer in 2007. In 2011, this event became a yearly event to raise money for the American Brain Tumor Association. And in 2012, this event hosted its first 5k run, changing the name to the Jerry Hoyt Memorial Cancer Walk and 5k Run. The goal of this event is to grow each and every year and to raise money for brain cancer research through the memory of an incredible member of the community, Jerry Hoyt.
